Steps:

1. Launch Yahoo Messenger and sign into it using your username and password.

2. Open Preferences from the Messenger menu.

3. Under Yahoo Messenger Preferences window, click on the category General and checkout the options in the right pane.

4. Uncheck against “Automatically start Yahoo! Messenger”.Click OK and close the Messenger.

5. Press Start + R button to open Run command and type msconfing and click OK.

6. Under the Startup tab, uncheck against Yahoo Messenger.Click OK and close the System Configuration window.

This prevents Yahoo Messenger from starting automatically with Windows startup.

Samsung S3370 aka Samsung Star Nano 3G has has been released into the market in May 2010.The phone is priced at Rs. 7320 ($157) (including a free 2GB microSD card & a stylus pen) in India.

Verdict:

3G touchscreen phone at an affordable price, Samsung Star Nano 3G is surely a competitor to Nokia 5230.The 1.3MP camera is the only factor against the phone which is otherwise a definite worth-buying touchsrceen phone.Since we are getting a 5MP camera phone (read Nokia X2) from Nokia at Rs. 5000 in India, Samsung should have included a better camera in the Samsung Star Nano 3G.Also Star Nano 3G has just 3G but no HSDPA, which means that the maximum download speed can be 384 kbps only.

Mozilla Firefox 3.6.4 RC Available For Download

Mozilla Firefox has announced the public release of the release candidate (RC) build of Firefox 3.6.4.

This RC release of Firefox 3.6.4 fixes various issues found in the previous beta releases of Firefox 3.6.4.

Since the launch of Firefox 3.6.4 Beta, Mozilla has started to include a new feature that runs plug-in in separate process keeping them out of the main browser process (Out-Of-Process Plugins feature), which is now being called as “uninterrupted browsing”.It means that if any of the plugins Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime or Microsoft Silverlight, it won’t affect the main Firefox browser process.

Users who are using the previous betas of Firefox 3.6.4 should receive this Firefox 3.6.4 build 6 (RC) as an automatic update.If no issues are found during testing of this RC version, this build (build 6) will be officially released as Firefox 3.6.4 final.

Adding Google Adsense for search (AFS) for self-hosted WordPress blogs is a bit tricky.In case of a blog hosted on Blogger, it’s enough if you place the codes wherever you want as long it lies within the <body>  section of the HTML source.Coming back to WordPress, even though there won’t be much difficulty in adding the code for displaying the Adsense search box, showing search results is the hard part.This requires you to create a separate page for displaying the search results.

Here we are coming up with an exclusive full tutorial on how to add Google Adsense site search in your WordPress blog.Follow the steps carefully to learn add Adsense site search feature on your own.

What Do We Need ?

– We need a standalone WordPress page to show search results

– We need a separate WordPress page template to embed the search results

– Codes for generating Adsense search box and Adsense search results

Procedure:

Step 1: Creating page template

We are going to generate a WordPress page template in this step.

Open any text editor and copy paste the below code into it and save it as something like googlesitesearch.php.

This is much simpler step, you just need to create a new WordPress page (Go to Pages> select “Add New”). Give it some name like Google Site Search.

Important: On the right side pane, select the page template that we have created in the first step (google site search).

Publish the page and note down the URL of the page (ex: www.techrena.net/google-site-search).

Step 3:

Login to your Adsense account and create a new Adsense for search ad.

In the second page of the AFS wizard, enter the above URL from the above step in the text box under “Open results within my own site” option.

Finish the AFS settings wizard and now you are ready with two separate codes, one for generating Adsense search form and another for generating search results.

Step 4:

Copy the Search Results Code and paste it into the page template file (googlesitesearch.php), save it and re-upload it to your current WordPress theme folder via FTP. Now this is your final page template that loads the search results.
You are done and the sample result page will look like the following:

Create Hibernate Shortcut For Windows

Previously we have posted about how to create shutdown desktop shortcut for Windows.If you have liked it but want similar desktop shortcut to Hibernate the Windows too, go ahead and follow the steps outlined below.

Steps:

1. Start creating a new desktop shortcut by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting “Shortcut” from the context menu.

2. In the next step, you will be asked to type the location of the item for which you want to create shortcut.

3. In the next step give your desired name for the shortcut like “Hibernate Windows” or “Shortcut for Hibernation” or whatever you like.Click Finish to finalize the wizard.

4. Now you can find the shortcut for Hibernating windows as shown below.

5. You can now start using the desktop shortcut for hibernation created above or you can go for customizing the icon of the shortcut to match its purpose.

Disable Write Protection On USB Disk Drive

If you have an USB disk drive (Mass storage/ flash drive), sometimes you might have faced problems while copying (writing) data to your USB disk with either of the following error messages being returned.

“The disk is write protected.

The media is write-protected.

Remove the write-protection or use another disk.”

This means that your USB disk drive is write-protected so you will not be able to download the files from the USB disk nor you will be able to copy the files into the USB drive.

There is a registry hack available to disable or remove this write-protection on the USB disks and flash key drives.

1. Open registry editor via regedit run command.

2. Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM\  CurrentControlSet \ Control

write_protection_reg_key

3. Create a new key named as StorageDevicePolicies.

4. Right-click on the right side pane, select DWORD (32-bit) value naming it as WriteProtect.

5. Double click on WriteProtect, and set its Value data to 0 (for removing write protection).

If you want to disable write access to USB disk drive (flash drive), just set the WriteProtect value data to 1.
