Microsoft and AT&T are jointly hosting the major Windows Phone 7 launch event in New York on October 11, 2010. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and the President & CEO of AT&T Mobility and Consumer markets, Ralph de la Vega will be hosting the event to discuss the things that we haven’t yet heard about the Windows Phone 7 (formerly known as Windows Mobile or WinMo)and its availability details.

The event will start on Monday, Oct. 11 at 9.30 AM EDT (6.30 AM PDT / 11.30 PM GMT / 19.00 Indian Standard Time). Microsoft will be exclusively telecasting the full event live on the internet (live webcast).

YouTube Fails To Live Telecast IPL Online

YouTube had made a deal with the Indian Premier League (IPL) organizers that they would be telecasting the IPL season 3 cricket matches live. This deal made internet user fans of IPL to celebrate.

But the dreams came breaking down soon as the IPL season 3 starts. The YouTube site showed error and stopped broadcasting the matches live within few seconds of the opening ceremony.

Here are the screen shots of the YouTube page. I was disappointed and had to stick to the Television for the match.

I felt pity for the ILP fans who don’t have Cable TVs and who were hoping to watch IPL series Online.

I guess that the error was due to traffic overload. But soon I was able to see the Match Online. Here is the Toss between the two teams shown. But there was mismatch with the audio and the video.

Even if the live telecast did not work well you can come later to watch the match highlights. I hope the highlight matches will be working fine.

82nd Annual Academy Awards, March 7th, 2010

Here comes the biggest event of Hollywood (or may be the biggest event of world cinema), March 7, 2010 brings yet another evening filled with the most wonderful actors & actresses around the globe, and the lovely Oscar Red carpet.

The 82nd annual academy awards ceremony is going to start in few hours at 3PM ET (6PM PT) at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California..The most interesting battle in this years Oscars event would be in the best picture category where 10 films are competing for the best movie made in 2009 (Avatar, The Blind Side, District 9, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Precious, A Serious Man, Up, Up in the Air).

And another category of interest is Best direction category (nominees: Avatar, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Up in the Air, Precious) where Avtar director James Cameroon and his ex-wife , Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow are competing for the award.

YouTube To Stream IPL Matches Live From India

YouTube IPL LogoGoogle India has just struck a nice deal with Indian Premier League (IPL) organizers that would enable to stream the IPL season 3 cricket matches live from it’s video-sharing site YouTube.

Google now holds the exclusive online rights of the IPL matches for two years.All the matches would be broadcasted with a delay of 5 minutes from the original live feed.

The live matches can be watched online from IPL’s YouTube account http://www.youtube.com/ipl.

With around 60 matches to be played, the tournament would be starting from March 12, 2010 and will run till April 25, 2010 in India.

It’s probably the first time that Google is broadcasting a live sporting event.However IPL fans in USA may just have to stick to other unofficial live streaming sites as they wouldn’t be able to watch this coverage from YouTube.

BTW, the coverage also includes match highlights, interview of the man-of-the match player for that day, all wickets, top sixes of the match,award ceremony, pitch report etc.
